About Camp Nageela

Camp Nageela prides itself on creating a Jewish haven for children and teens of all backgrounds and affiliations

Rather than focusing on our differences, Camp Nageela is an environment that espouses core Jewish values in a way everyone feels comfortable and welcomed.

In Camp Nageela, Jewish life isn’t taught, it’s caught. Jewish values and ideals are integrated into our daily program.

It is our goal in Camp Nageela that each and every child returns home infused with Jewish pride. It is our pleasure at Camp Nageela to help facilitate our campers’ Jewish learning while in camp.

Campers are offered sessions catering to his/her Jewish background knowledge. For interested campers, Camp Nageela organizes and arranges Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparations and ceremonies in camp and throughout the year.

Known for their enthusiasm and idealistic spirit, Camp Nageela staff members are selected for their ability to create a warm and nourishing environment. Our 3:1 camper-to-staff ratio ensures caring, individualized attention and rich relationships that embrace and encourage the campers to grow. Counselors at Nageela are full of life and haven’t forgotten what it’s like to be a camper!

TeeNageela, our fast-paced teen program for campers completing grades 8 & 9, provides the best of Camp Nageela, plus a special twist designed for teenagers. Teens experience accelerated fun while taking part in leadership training opportunities. Campers completing 10th grade enjoy all the great activities of TeeNageela while also taking the position of “Junior Staff”. They fill positions such as waiter/waitress or staff assistant and receive special privileges.

At Camp Nageela we strive to ensure healthy living through appropriate rest time, fluid intake and sunscreen protection stations. Well-balanced, nourishing and delicious Kosher meals and snacks are prepared daily. We are delighted to meet any special dietary needs your child may have. Campers and staff enjoy air-conditioned hotel-like accommodations and clean, spacious facilities. Our fully equipped infirmary is staffed with trained medical personnel, and our “Camp Mom” is available around the clock for camper care & “away from home mothering”.

Shabbat meals are delicious and feature many traditional favorites- including fresh baked challah, gefilte fish, matza ball soup and cholent!

It is customary in Camp Nageela that campers dress nicely on Shabbat.

B’nai Mitzvah

Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are very special parts of the Jewish lifecycle. A Bar or Bat Mitzvah is the recognition of the transition of a child to a full-fledged adult member of Jewish society.

In Camp Nageela, each summer we create a very exciting big day for our Bat Mitzvah twelve year old girls and a Bar Mitzvah for our thirteen year old boys, in camp. It is a big celebration with music, dancing, and alot of joy!

In Nageela, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are not graduations but rather the start of something larger! TeeNageela opens a whole new world of Jewish program opportunities for the post Bar/Bat Mitzvah student!

We also, can help your child get ready for his or her big day out of camp, and throughout the year.

Mazel Tov!
